Project Description
MORE THAN A GIFT
Winter in Ukraine is unforgiving, but for thousands of children, the cold isn’t just about the weather—it’s about struggle, uncertainty, and needs that can’t always be met. No child should have to face the bitter frost without a warm coat, yet for many families, a simple winter jacket has become a luxury they cannot afford. But thanks to Hugs, 12,000 children across Ukraine are receiving more than just a jacket — they are receiving warmth, care, and the reassurance that they are not alone.
For Tatyana, a single mother from Odesa, this gift was life-changing. After losing her job due to the war, every day became a struggle. With winter approaching, she had no idea how she would afford a warm coat for her six-year-old daughter, Katya. Then, a friend sent her a form for a Christmas party. She hesitated but decided to go.
From the moment they arrived, she felt something she hadn’t in a long time — joy. Laughter, magic, and holiday cheer surrounded them. But the real miracle came when Katya received a bright, cozy down jacket. “Mom, look! It’s so warm!” she beamed. Tatyana held back tears — someone had caredfor them in a way she never expected.
