Project Description

PAIN THAT NEVER FADES

All these people are united by one thing: the grief that has come into their families. The war has taken from them the part of their lives that was their everything—hope for the future, the most precious and beloved in their lives. The death or murder of a child is the worst tragedy a family can face. The pain in the eyes of mothers and grandmothers tore at our souls as we listened to their stories of losing their children.

An enemy drone directly struck a car, leaving no chance for survival. A grandmother has spent a year and a half searching in vain for her grandson’s remains, as the enemy now occupies the area. A mother searched for her son for five years before finding a single fragment of him—a piece of his foot, all that was left of his body after it was torn apart.

She thanks God she was able to recover even that and bury him in his native land. The war is taking the best of us. This loss is impossible to bear—it is a scar that will forever remind them of their pain. The anguish will live in their hearts forever, a constant reminder that robs them of peace.

The families of fallen heroes express their profound gratitude for the help they have received.
